The Vietnamese Mossy Tree Frog is a frog species found in northern Vietnam, China, and Laos.
The tree frog looks like a crocodile smushed into a tiny 3” body. Never mind that it can throw its voice up to 13 feet, making the creature hard to spot.
The frog’s “mossy” looking texture resembles the green and brown moss that grows on rock. The colors also help the Vietnamese Mossy Tree Frog blend in with plants, trees, and jagged crevices. In another protective defense measure, the mossy tree frog is known to curl up and play dead when frightened.
These frogs also have an adhesive disk at the end of each toe, making them crafty tree climbers.
